At the end of the workshop, delegates will know how to develop cloud-native applications and will be able to put this into practice.

  • Having IntelliJ IDEA installed on the device used during the workshop.

Introduction to cloud native

The introduction will explain what cloud native means and what developing cloud-native applications involves. Cloud-native architectures will also be discussed.

Developing cloud-native applications with Spring Cloud

This part of the workshop combines theory with practical exercises. The following subjects will be discussed: 

  • Spring Cloud CLI
  • Service discovery
  • Gateway
  • Circuit breakers
  • (event-driven) Messaging

Using Spring Cloud to deploy, manage and monitor cloud-native applications
This part of the workshop combines theory with practical exercises again. The following subjects will be discussed:

  • Distributed configuration
  • Spring Cloud pipelines with Jenkins
  • Distributed tracing
  • Spring Cloud Kubernetes
